2008 UNDERCLASSMEN NORTHEAST OHIO BASEBALL BUREAU INFORMATION (NOBB)
This is the INAGURAL year of what eventually will become Northeast Ohio's Premier Baseball Bureau for identifying and evaluating incoming freshman, sophomores, and junior each year.
If you are serious about getting recruited by colleges, then the overall process must begin as soon as possible. Getting your name listed on NEOBaseballBureau.com will get your name exposed to every college in our database, which is over 200 colleges and universities AND you will get unprecedented coverage.
WHY SHOULD I JOIN THIS BASEBALL BUREAU?
Because it is a baseball marketing and evaluation program just for Northeast Ohio high school baseball players and it will be conducted by Northeast Ohio baseball men who have dedicated their lives to be an advocate for Northeast Ohio baseball players, and will continue to do so.
HERE ARE SOME OF THE PROBLEMS THAT CURRENT UNDERCLASSMEN BASEBALL PLAYERS HAVE IN THE BASEBALL MARKETPLACE TODAY:
College baseball camps do a great job of exposing you to that school's staff, but unless you fit a particular need of that school, your time and money could be wasted. Plus, going to multiple college camps is very time consuming and costly. College baseball camps are typically for juniors and seniors.
Most high school coaches and athletic directors do little or nothing in the area of marketing for incoming freshmen (many cases they do not even know the incoming freshmen), sophomores, and juniors. This is not a knock on your high school program, these coaches and administrators are not paid to provide this type of service. Some coaches and athletic directors do a great job at marketing your kid, so consider yourself lucky if this service is already provided.
Most summer baseball programs do little marketing for the players on their roster for a variety of reasons, mostly a lack of experience at dealing with "Next Level" transactions. These coaches are also NOT paid to provide this type of service. If your summer coach does provide some level of baseball marketing for your son, consider yourself very lucky.
There are a wide variety of "showcases" (statewide and nationally), but mostly they are for "to be seniors". There are underclass showcases available around the country, but are either very far away or are very expensive. As an underclassmen, why go so far away to be noticed when you can be noticed right here in Northeast Ohio for a fraction of the cost and effort? Once you become a college prospect, realistically by your junior year, we will recommend appropriate showcases for you to attend. Most college recruiters don't pay much attention to a "prospect" until their summer baseball season between their junior and senior years of high school. Most professional scouts don't pay attention to a professional prospect until his senior year of high school ball.
Out of state college camps AND national showcases are outstanding for the very top 1% of high school junior and senior "prospects", but MOST college signings take place with players within a 200 mile radius of a particular college or university. This is based upon a lifetime of baseball observation of Northeast Ohio's premier baseball players.
Local newspapers are increasingly having a very difficult time providing proper baseball coverages for high school players due to manpower and column space. The coverage that these papers are able to provide to the most talented players are generally current seniors. Just check your local papers for the pre-season and post-season players that they have identified as the "best" players to watch or honor as All-Star League, District, and State Honorees. They are almost always juniors and seniors, majority being seniors. We will be an advocate and promote your kid as a freshman, sophomore, and junior!
Cost of the evaluation(s) are listed below. We encourage you to register online or request a registration form as soon as possible. The official deadline for pre-registration discount of $25 is 8/23/08. We will allow walk ups on evaluation day 8/24/08 as long as the event is not filled up. Spots are limited to 100 athletes per event, so please pre-register today!
